I’m back
Not a patent post this time. But for you faithful readers - all one or two of you out there - I’m back after a too long hiatus. My excuse is a vacation followed by a trip to Australia for work. The pile now on my desk of posts to do will take me well into the next several months - so stay tuned.

This blog is for you and for me. Patents are part of business in the world, whether you like them or not. There are good reasons to know about patents — especially how to use them to advantage. The problem is that patents are largely inaccessible to anyone other than legal professionals. Although increasingly more available on-line, patents remain mysterious or mis-understood or mis-interpreted by the majority of scientists, activists, and even most entrepeneurs.
So, the first goal of this blog (and also the web site www.cambiaIP.org) is to de-mystify patents. In particular, I hope to show you why it’s useful to access patent documents and show you how to use the information in them. As well, I want to de-bunk common mis-understandings.
Second, this blog will be a forum for the latest patent law updates and news items that strike my fancy.
